Caring for Full-Grain Leather

Full-grain leather is left intentionally unfinished when it leaves our tannery, which means it is more responsive to care than more heavily treated hides, and more rewarding to maintain.

Condition twice yearly with a natural, wax-based conditioner, applied sparingly and buffed to a soft sheen. Avoid direct sun and prolonged heat, which dry the hide from the inside.

Rain is not the enemy it's assumed to be: full-grain leather can tolerate a light shower. Standing water is another matter; blot immediately and allow to air dry away from direct heat.

Treated this way, a piece from the Leather Atelier will not simply last. It will improve.
